The school meal at Mwambao School is oftentimes the only full meal students will receive throughout the day.
When funding for school meals at Mwambao had been suspended, the teachers were considering asking the kids to stay at home – as it would have been too difficult dealing with the disappointment of over 25 kids with diverse abilities having difficulties understanding why they are supposed to go through their day with hungry bellies. We have raised funds to be able to support the children at the special needs class to be provided with food for warm daily school meals for the coming month.
We have been regularly jumping in to support whenever funding had stopped for various reasons. As we sometimes struggle to get the funding together: please let us know if you might be interested in supporting in case of “food emergencies”.
